Introduction to Playing the Kantele class offered

IT'S SO EASY...

In Finland the kantele is used in elementary schools
to teach the basics of music.
If Finnish children can learn to play the kantele,
you can too!

Join us for a demonstration and class:

Introduction to Playing the Finnish Kantele
Saturday, October 16, 2 -4 pm
YMCA Camp DuNord, Morning Glory Program Center
Taught by acclaimed kantele builder and player Gerry Henkel
and local musician LynnAnne Vesper
Cost: $15
Registration requested by Friday, October 15 by noon.
Class participants are encouraged to stay for a light meal and the concert which follows.

Directions:
To Camp du
Nord from Ely
Go east out of
Ely on Highway 169, about 0.5 miles past the
edge of town. Just past the entrance to the International Wolf Center, turn
left onto 88. Go 2.3 miles to 116, which is the Echo Trail. Turn right on
the Echo Trail and go 9.1 miles to the North Arm Road (less than 1 m
ile past Fenske Lake Campground).
Turn left onto 644, which is the North Arm Road.
Go 3.8 miles to YMCA Camp du Nord and turn left into Pine Pointe
Village. Signs will be posted on the ro
ad for the Morning Glory Program Center where we will be teaching the
class.
